Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung von Volkswirtschaften erfolgt in normalen Phasen nach einem bekannten Muster. Eine solche Entwicklung wird Konjunktur genannt. Ein typischer Konjunkturzyklus kann in vier Phasen eingeteilt werden: Aufschwung, Boom (Hochkonjunktur), Abschwung, Rezession (bis hin zur schweren Depression während der Weltwirtschaftskrise zwischen 1928 bis 1933). In der ökonomischen Literatur liegt eine Rezession dann vor, wenn der saison- und kalenderbereinigte Wert für das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt, als Maßstab für den aktuellen Wirtschaftsverlauf, in zwei Quartalen nacheinander sinkt. Allerdings sind Fragen des Ausgangsniveaus, Stärke des Rückgangs und Bedeutung von Sondereinflüssen zu klären. In der typischen ökonomischen Lehrbuchsichtweise wird der Betrachtungszeitraum für einen vollständigen Konjunkturzyklus mit einer durchschnittlichen Dauer von rund 4 bis 6 Jahren angegeben.
