Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel präsentiert eine empirische Untersuchung, die den positiven Zusammenhang zwischen ethischem Handeln und wirtschaftlichem Erfolg belegt. Eine Mixed-Methods-Studie mit 309 europäischen Unternehmen und 18 Interviews zeigt, dass ethisch handelnde Unternehmen systematisch erfolgreicher sind (Schemmel et al., SSRN Electronic Journal, 2024). Das Forschungsdesign integriert quantitative und qualitative Methoden zur Messung ethischer Unternehmensleistung. Sechs zentrale Prinzipien ethischer Unternehmensführung werden identifiziert, darunter alterozentrierte Geschäftsstrategie und Stakeholder-Engagement. Die Studie zeigt starke Korrelationen zwischen ethischem Verhalten und finanzieller Performance, insbesondere bei zukunftsorientierter ethischer Ausrichtung (r = 0,915). Die Kausalität verläuft von ethischen Praktiken zu finanzieller Leistung. Das Kapitel schließt mit der Erkenntnis, dass Ethik nicht der Gegner des Erfolgs, sondern der Erfolg selbst ist.
