Abstract

Zusammenfassung Kap. 2 zeigt, warum Empathie vielfältig, differenziert und nicht immer positiv wirkt. Es räumt mit gängigen Mythen auf – etwa der Annahme, Empathie mache automatisch erfolgreich oder sei mit Nettigkeit gleichzusetzen. Empathie umfasst verschiedene Fähigkeiten, die situativ nützen oder belasten können. Das Kapitel erläutert die drei Dimensionen emotionaler, kognitiver und sozialer Empathie und zeigt, wie sie zusammenwirken. Neurowissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse verdeutlichen, wie Gehirn, Stress und soziale Erfahrungen Empathie beeinflussen. Zudem wird erklärt, warum Empathie messbar sein muss und wie valide Tests helfen, Stärken, Risiken und Entwicklungspotenziale zu erkennen.
