Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der „typische“ Betriebsrat ist in der IndustrieIndustrie männlich und wiedergewählt. Im Handel und in vielen Dienstleistungsbereichen dominieren heute aber auch schon die Frauen. Allerdings lässt es sich heute - im Gegensatz zu den Jahren 1952 bis 1972 nicht mehr ganz pauschal beschreiben, wer der typische Betriebsrat ist. Je nach Unternehmensgröße und Branche ist das Erscheinungsbild des „typischen“ Betriebsrat recht unterschiedlich. Allen gemeinsam ist jedoch, dass sie eine etwas längere Betriebszugehörigkeit aufweisen als andere Mitarbeiter des Betriebs. Führungskräfte sind in den Betriebsräten aber weniger anzutreffen. In der Industrie sind Betriebsräte in der Regel über 40 Jahre alt. Betriebsräte agieren sehr unterschiedlich in der Zusammenarbeit mit dem ArbeitgeberArbeitgeber. Sie handeln im Spannungsfeld zwischen Betriebspartnerschaft, Konfliktmanagement und rechtlicher Gestaltung der Mitbestimmung.
