Abstract

Zusammenfassung Regionalentwicklungsgenossenschaften (REGs) sind ein zentrales Werkzeug für die Transformation ländlicher Räume. Sie wirken als Impulsgeberinnen, Mentorinnen und Patinnen, indem sie Wissen, Strukturen und Kapital bündeln und so den Aufbau von Dorf- und Quartiersgenossenschaften erleichtern. Während Kommunen häufig unter dem Druck von Demografie, De-Industrialisierung und Finanzknappheit stehen, schaffen REGs Räume für Selbstversorgung, Daseinsvorsorge und regionale Kreislaufwirtschaft. Sie senken Hürden, indem sie rechtliche und administrative Lasten übernehmen, und befähigen zugleich die Menschen vor Ort, Verantwortung zu tragen und ihre Zukunft aktiv zu gestalten. Durch ihre Struktur sichern sie Bürgerkapital, Fördermittel und Bankfinanzierungen ab und sorgen dafür, dass Wertschöpfung in der Region bleibt. Ob über die Kombination mit Bürgerstiftungen wie der Bürgerstiftung Pfalz, über konkrete Projekte in Energie, Wohnen oder Kultur: REGs sind Prototypen einer neuen Infrastruktur, die ökonomische Resilienz mit sozialem Zusammenhalt und ökologischer Regeneration verbindet – und so lebenswerte Zukunftsräume entstehen lässt.
