Abstract

ZusammenfassungIm sechsten Kapitel beschäftigen wir uns damit, wie wir effektiv und respektvoll mit anderen Kulturen in Kontakt treten und interagieren. Wir beginnen damit, das Fremde wertzuschätzen. Weiterhin tauchen wir in das Konzept des Ethnozentrismus ein, wo du herausfinden wirst, zu welchem Typ du gehörst. Ebenso erfährst du, wie Menschen aus fremden Kulturen auf die neuen Gegebenheiten reagieren. Derzeitig sorgt Rassismus für jede Menge Zündstoff und die herrschenden Unklarheiten führen zu Unsicherheiten. Die Auseinandersetzung mit Rassismus entscheidet, wie du mit kulturellen Unterschieden umgehst. Wirst du sie leugnen, deine Kultur verteidigen, Unterschiede akzeptieren oder aktiv integrieren? Mit dem Modell über die Entwicklungsphasen für mehr interkulturelle Sensibilität findest du heraus, wo du stehst. Außerdem hörst du von Annas Erfahrungen und siehst, welchen Weg sie einschlägt, um mit ihren Herausforderungen umzugehen.
