Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die klassischen Ökonomen betrachteten Wirtschaftskrisen meist als durch äußere Faktoren verursacht und vertrauten auf die Selbstregulierung des Marktes, wie es das Saysche Gesetz nahelegt. Ricardo hielt an dieser Harmonie fest, während Malthus sie mit dem Konzept der effektiven Nachfrage infrage stellte. Marx erkannte erstmals zyklische Muster, verknüpfte sie aber nicht eindeutig mit seiner Krisentheorie. Trotz unterschiedlicher Ansätze betonten alle Denker die Rolle von Ungleichgewichten zwischen Produktion, Konsum und Kapitalbildung. Ihre Überlegungen bilden das Fundament späterer Konjunkturtheorien.
