Abstract

Zusammenfassung In der Genfer Flüchtlingskonvention der Vereinten Nationen von 1951 wird ein Flüchtling definiert als eine Person, die in ihrem Heimatland aus Gründen der Rasse, Religion, Nationalität, politischen Überzeugung oder Zugehörigkeit zu einer bestimmten sozialen Gruppe begründete Angst vor Konflikten oder Verfolgung hat. Flüchtlinge stehen unter dem Schutz des Völkerrechts und dürfen nicht ausgewiesen oder in Situationen zurückgeschickt werden, in denen ihr Leben und ihre Freiheit gefährdet sein könnten.
