Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Begriff Metaverse wurde zunächst im Umfeld digitaler Spiele und Konsumanwendungen als Verschmelzung von virtueller und realer Welt eingeführt. Durch die Ankündigung von Mark Zuckerberg, Milliardeninvestitionen in das Gebiet zu tätigen und sein Unternehmen in Meta umzubenennen, wurde ein Hype ausgelöst, der sich inzwischen für den Konsumbereich reduziert hat. Für die Industrie besteht dagegen mit dem Industrial Metaverse ein von wirtschaftlichem Nutzen getriebenes Konzept. Es besteht aus der Verbindung zwischen realer Industriewelt und ihrer digitalen Abbildung zur Optimierung von Planung und Ausführung von Prozessen. Das Industrial Metaverse ist zunächst aus einzelnen Anwendungen der Produktentwicklung und der Fabrikplanung und -steuerung entstanden, wird aber zukünftig alle Digitalisierungsbereiche des Industrieunternehmens umfassen.
