Abstract

Chapter 5 provides an overview of the contribution that the blended learning format makes to the contemporary design of learning activitiesLernenLernaktivität and the functional principles on which this format is based. It addresses the identification of an organization’s learning needsLernenLernbedarf, clarifies who the key stakeholders in learningLernen are, and examines the role that blended learning can play in organizational learningOrganisation. Based on the learning needsLernenLernbedarf, the chapter defines the competenciesKompetenz that learners are expected to acquire, explains how these are formulated as transparent and measurable learning outcomesLernenLernergebnis, and how they are represented in the intellectual capital statementWissenWissensbilanz. The chapter then discusses the blueprint for competency developmentKompetenzKompetenzvermittlung, addressing framework conditions and design elements such as the training conceptKonzeptAusbildungskonzeptBildungAusbildungskonzept and the associated course descriptions. The chapter concludes with explanations on evaluating the benefits and costs to determine whether the learning outcomesLernenLernergebnis can be achieved with the planned resourcesRessource.
