Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Internet of Things (IoT) ist ein System miteinander verbundener Geräte, die sich mit anderen IoT-Geräten und der Cloud verbinden und Daten austauschen. IoT-Geräte sind in der Regel mit Technologien wie Sensoren und Software ausgestattet und können mechanische und digitale Maschinen sowie Konsumgüter umfassen. Dieses Kapitel konzentriert sich auf den Bereich Immobilienmanagement (RE) und Facility Management (FM), d. h. die Anwendung von IoT auf Gebäude und die Menschen, die diese nutzen. Dieses Kapitel beschreibt die Prinzipien der IoT-Technologie und erläutert, wie sie insbesondere im Bereich RE/FM angewendet werden kann. Deshalb wird speziell der Einsatz von IoT rund um Gebäude und Büroumgebungen diskutiert. Neben einer kurzen Erläuterung der Prinzipien der beteiligten Technologien werden der Zweck des IoT im RE und FM und seine möglichen Vorteile diskutiert.
