Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel widmet sich der theoretisch fundierten und gesellschaftlich kontextualisierten Analyse von Fankultur und Fanidentität im professionellen Fußball. Ausgehend von soziologischen, kulturtheoretischen und identitätsbezogenen Perspektiven wird aufgezeigt, wie Fans als soziale Akteure kollektive Bedeutungsräume erschaffen, Gemeinschaften stiften und kulturelle Praktiken ausbilden. Die Untersuchung gliedert sich in zentrale Aspekte wie die Entstehung und Dynamik von Fankulturen, deren Ausdrucksformen, den Dualismus von Nähe und Kritik sowie die Rolle von Individualisierung und Co-Individualisierung in der Fanidentitätsbildung. Im Zentrum steht die Frage, inwiefern Fankultur nicht nur ein Ausdruck von Zugehörigkeit, sondern auch eine aktive Form der (Re-)Produktion von Clubidentitäten und sozialer Wirklichkeit darstellt.
