Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Nutzung fossiler und nuklearer Energien ist mit unerwünschten ökologischen Nebenwirkungen und damit mit externen Kosten verbunden. Konkret erfolgt die Internalisierung dieser Kosten durch eine CO2-Bepreisung, z. B. mittels CO2-Emissionshandel. In der Energiewirtschaft gibt es mehrere Ansatzpunkte für eine erfolgreiche Unterstützung der Transformation unter Berücksichtigung der Pfadabhängigkeitsproblematik. Am Beispiel der Photovoltaik wird der Pfadwechsel durch Subventionierung erörtert. Thematisiert wird generell das Problem unterkomplexer Lernprozesse bei der Energiewende sowie die Problematik des unvernetzten Denkens. Zudem erfolgt eine Diskussion weiterer polit-ökonomischer Aspekte der Energiewende, z. B. auch bzgl. der Bedeutung strategischer Rohstoffe. Ergänzt wird dies durch einen Blick auf die Anwendungsfelder und Möglichkeiten zur Steigerung der Energieeffizienz mittels Einspar- bzw. „Negawatt“-Investitionen.
