Wachstumsschwellen in Gründerunternehmen: Die Pionierkrise

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Begeisterung über die große Zahl von Gründerunternehmen in Deutschland ist groß. Für die Zukunft erwartet man eine rasch weiter steigende Gründungsbereitschaft und im Gefolge auch eine höhere Zahl tatsächlicher Gründungen. Dieser optimistischen Entwicklung, auf die man speziell in Deutschland so lange gewartet hat, steht jedoch eine ernüchternd große Zahl von Marktaustritten junger Unternehmen gegenüber, sei es in Form von freiwilligen Geschäftsaufgaben oder Insolvenzen. Eine kürzlich publizierte Studie (Bürgel, 2014) kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass ca. ein Viertel aller Insolvenzen in Deutschland zu Lasten von Jungunternehmen geht. Mit zunehmendem Alter zeigt sich dann dementsprechend ein monoton abnehmendes Insolvenzrisiko.
