Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Transformation der Arbeitswelt stellt Unternehmen und Beschäftigte vor große Herausforderungen, geprägt durch technologische, soziale und kulturelle Veränderungen. Selbstorganisation wird zur Schlüsselstrategie, kann aber durch wachsende Handlungsoptionen Verunsicherung auslösen. Personalentwicklung (PE) unterstützt diesen Wandel mit Methoden zur Begleitung und Prävention von Überforderung und könnte so eine zentrale Rolle in der Unsicherheitsbewältigung übernehmen. Der Beitrag analysiert, wie PE trotz Spannungsfeldern – wie Autonomie und Abhängigkeit – wirksam agieren kann. Auf Basis professionstheoretischer Ansätze werden das Tätigkeitsfeld sowie das Selbstverständnis der PE betrachtet und in bestehende Erklärungsmodelle eingebettet. Dabei steht ihr Potenzial im Fokus, Freiheit an der Schnittstelle zwischen organisationalen Anforderungen, individuellen Bedürfnissen und gesellschaftlichen Einflüssen aktiv zu gestalten.
