Abstract

Zusammenfassung Oft wird die Ansicht vertreten, dass Freiheit und Kapitalismus untrennbar miteinander verbunden sind. So meinte der bekannte Ökonom Milton Friedman, dass persönliche Freiheit nur dort gedeihen kann, wo freie Märkte existieren, die gleichzeitig Innovationen und Fortschritt garantieren. Karl Marx hingegen beschrieb den Kapitalismus als eine Form der Unterwerfung der Individualität unter gesellschaftliche Bedingungen, die als überwältigende Sachzwänge erscheinen. Der mit dem Wettbewerb verbundene ständige Optimierungsdruck führt dazu, dass Menschen und Prozesse einer starken Kontrolle unterworfen werden müssen. Nur so ist eine effizientere Steuerung der Wirtschaftsprozesse möglich. Die jetzt stattfindende Digitalisierung und der zunehmende Einsatz von künstlicher Intelligenz zeigen diesen Widerspruch erneut in aller Schärfe. Neue KI-gestützte Technologien schaffen bislang ungeahnte Möglichkeiten der Steuerung, Überwachung und Beeinflussung von Menschen und Prozessen.
