Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die PESTEL-Analyse als strategisches Instrument bietet Informationen über das Unternehmensumfeld in Hinblick auf spezifische Marktgegebenheiten, absehbare Risiken und Chancen auch im Sinne künftiger Entwicklungen sowie deren positive oder negative Auswirkungen auf das Unternehmen. Sie stellt somit eine fundierte Entscheidungsgrundlage für das Management dar, insbesondere auch für Geschäftstätigkeiten im Ausland. Der vorliegende Beitrag bietet zum einen eine Operationalisierung zahlreicher Sub-Kategorien der PESTEL, zum anderen werden mögliche Erweiterungen, welche insbesondere angesichts voranschreitender Globalisierung und Digitalisierung notwendig werden, vorgestellt und kritisch diskutiert.
