Abstract

Zusammenfassung Viele Unternehmen tun sich schwer mit der nachhaltigen Entwicklung. Positionen der Forschung, Impulse aus Organisations-, Management- und Kommunikationstheorie bieten Ansätze und Konzepte, um bislang vergeblichen oder gescheiterten Versuchen neue Perspektiven zu eröffnen. Dafür müssen Unternehmen alte Muster überwinden, neue Wege gehen und alternative Vorgehensweisen entwickeln. Der Ansatz einer viralen Nachhaltigkeitstransformation bietet eine fokussierte Vorgehensweise. In kleinen Schritten, aber im Rahmen einer erkennbaren Gesamtsystematik können Unternehmen Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement und -kommunikation schrittweise aufbauen. Mit dem Konzept der Nachhaltigkeitstransformation als Lern- und Entwicklungsprozess von Organisationen ist ein Weg eröffnet, Mitarbeitende und externe Stakeholder einzubinden und zu beteiligen. Der Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation kommt dabei eine tragende Rolle zu: nicht mehr als Verpackungs- und Verkaufsexpertise, sondern als konstitutives Element der Nachhaltigkeitstransformation von Organisationen.
