Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das folgende Kapitel beschäftigt sich mit dem Klimawandel und dessen Auswirkungen auf die Veranstaltungsbranche, insbesondere auf Veranstaltungszentren. Obwohl die Veranstaltungsbranche zu den klimasensiblen Branchen zählt und bereits durch die vom Klimawandel bedingten Extremwetter vermehrt beeinträchtigt wird, hat das Thema Klimaanpassung bisher sowohl in der Eventforschung als auch in der Praxis nur begrenzt Beachtung gefunden. Das Kapitel fasst die Erkenntnisse aus aktuellen Studien zusammen, die sich mit Klimawandelfolgen und entsprechenden Maßnahmen für die Veranstaltungsbranche auseinandersetzen. Weiterhin wird aufgezeigt, inwieweit auch Veranstaltungszentren in Zukunft vom Klimawandel betroffen sein werden. Dabei stellen die Autoren mögliche Maßnahmen vor, mit denen sich die Betreiber von Veranstaltungszentren und Veranstaltungorganisatoren bestmöglich auf den Klimawandel einstellen und anpassen können. Das Ziel des Beitrags ist es, konkrete Klimaanpassungskompetenzen für die Veranstaltungsbranche, insbesondere für Veranstaltungszentren, zu vermitteln.
