Abstract

Zusammenfassung Seit 2013 wird im deutschsprachigen Raum Predictive Policing angewendet. Die Nutzung von Prognosealgorithmen bei der Polizei hatte ihren Höhepunkt in der zweiten Hälfte der 2010er Jahre und ist in den letzten Jahren deutlich zurückgegangen. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird im vorliegenden Beitrag die Verbreitungsgeschichte von Predictive Policing im deutschsprachigen Raum vorgestellt und eine Bestandsaufnahme über die derzeitige Anwendung gegeben. Zudem wird der Blick in die Zukunft gerichtet, indem die mögliche weitere Entwicklung von Predictive Policing im deutschsprachigen Raum in den kommenden Jahren diskutiert wird. Diese wird als eng mit Datenanalyseplattformen verknüpft angesehen, wie anhand der Entwicklung von PRECOBS Classic zu PRECOBS Enterprise und mit Blick auf die Gotham-Plattform von Palantir Technologies plausibilisiert wird. Zuletzt wird darauf verwiesen, dass die Zukunft von Predictive Policing verknüpft sein kann mit der Zukunft von generativer KI bei der Polizei.
