Abstract

Zusammenfassung Citizen Development ermöglicht es Unternehmen, «die eigene Softwareentwicklung zu demokratisieren». Indem Mitarbeitende als Citizen Developers ohne tiefgehende Programmierkenntnisse eigene Anwendungen erstellen, können Entwicklungsvorhaben beschleunigt und IT-Abteilungen entlastet werden. Dies fördert die Innovationskraft und steigert die Effizienz betrieblicher Abläufe. Gleichzeitig birgt Citizen Development zahlreiche Herausforderungen, insbesondere im Hinblick auf Governance, Sicherheitsstandards und die Vermeidung von Schatten-IT. Um diese Risiken zu minimieren, sind klare Richtlinien, Schulungsmaßnahmen und eine enge Zusammenarbeit zwischen IT und Fachabteilungen notwendig. Richtig umgesetzt, kann Citizen Development zu einem wichtigen Treiber der digitalen Transformation werden und Unternehmen helfen, agiler und wettbewerbsfähiger zu werden.
