Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Automotive-Sektor, die (Kraft-)Fahrzeugindustrie im weiteren Sinne, ist gekennzeichnet durch lange, detaillierte Wertschöpfungsketten. Es sind viele Unternehmen und Organisationen, deren Geschäftsfeld etwa Design, Entwicklung, Herstellung, Marketing, Verkauf, Reparatur oder Modifikation von Fahrzeugen ist. Wenngleich zwei Drittel der Erdoberfläche maritime Gebiete sind und diese für uns als Ökosystem, unter anderem hinsichtlich des Kohlenstoffhaushalts, der Nahrungsmittelproduktion oder der Energie- und Rohstoffversorgung essenziell sind, so sind Unterwasserfahrzeuge eher in einem Stadium der Manufaktur denn in einer Industrie. Hier kann die Meerestechnik vom Bereich Automotive lernen – sie muss es, die Zeit läuft! Automotive hingegen steht vor vielen Herausforderungen und muss sich verändern. Unter der Wasseroberfläche sind die Potenziale für lohnende Geschäftsfelder.
