Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zwischen Klimakrise und kriegerischen Auseinandersetzungen wird zunehmend klar: Entscheidungen, die heute noch lapidar erscheinen, können das Morgen in entscheidender Weise verändern – zum Besseren oder zum Schlechteren hin. Unlängst titelte die Tagesschau, dass die deutsche Automobilindustrie dem größten Wandel ihrer Geschichte entgegensieht – am Ende des Tages geht es hierbei vor allem auch um sehr viele Arbeitsplätze (Diekmann 2024). Auch hier werden die Entscheidungen der nächsten Jahre prägend sein. In der Tat ist nicht zu bestreiten, dass die deutsche Automobilindustrie sich großen Herausforderungen und gewichtigen Folgen der Transformation zu „alternativen“ Antriebstechnologien und vernetzter Maschinerie und Infrastruktur gegenübersieht, die es in den nächsten Jahren – möglichst hin zum Besseren – zu gestalten gilt. Eine dominierende Rolle spielt hierbei etwa das Thema Nachhaltigkeit, welches immer breiter ausgelegt, stetig verrechtlicht wird und über vielen Fragen mitbestimmend schwebt.
