Abstract

Zusammenfassung Geld ist ein universeller Begriff, der eine geschichtliche Würdigung erfordert. Geld bewegt die Menschen seit allen Zeiten. Geld ist Ausdruck der materiellen Grundlagen des menschlichen Lebens. Die Verfügungsgewalt über Ressourcen gibt den Menschen Wohlstand und Macht – genau dies zeigt sich in der Geschichte des Geldes. Sie zeigt, wie sich Geldsysteme von den Anfängen der Zivilisation bis hin zur modernen digitalen Ära entwickelt haben und dies veranschaulicht den Einfluss des Geldes auf die Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft durch die Jahrhunderte. Alle historischen Prozesse, seien es Herrschaftszeiten, Kriege oder soziale Umwälzungen, weisen auf die Bedeutung des Geldes hin.
