Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Umgang mit psychisch auffälligen Personen ist im polizeilichen Alltag mit Herausforderungen verbunden. Ein Grund für auftretende Schwierigkeiten liegt darin, dass einige polizeiliche Routinen und Einsatztaktiken, die bei den meisten rational handelnden und psychisch gesunden Personen effektiv sind, bei Menschen in psychischen Ausnahmesituationen versagen oder sogar zu einer weiteren Eskalation beitragen können. Bisherige Aus- und Fortbildungsmaßnahmen begegnen dieser Problematik durch eine umfassende Vermittlung psychiatrischer Diagnosen, um daraus abgeleitet, störungsbildspezifische Verhaltensempfehlungen zu geben. Diese Vorgehensweise ist jedoch für viele Polizeibehörden nicht praxistauglich, da solche Schulungen zum einen zu umfangreich sind und zum anderen das komplexe Wissen in der Praxis möglicherweise nicht abgerufen werden kann. In einem neu entwickelten Ansatz (Maier & Dittrich-Gessnitzer, 2023) wurde die alternative Idee verfolgt, anstelle von Störungsbildern psychische Zustände in den Fokus zu stellen, um eine effizientere Schulung zu gewährleisten und das Wissen praxisnäher zu vermitteln. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird dieser Ansatz mit Hilfe einer Fragebogenstudie evaluiert.
