Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel wird das Konzept der ökologischen Transformation unter Berücksichtigung der Dringlichkeit der Begrenzung des Klimawandels analysiert. Zu Beginn werden einige grundlegende Überlegungen zur ökologischen Transformation getroffen, wobei der erforderliche strukturelle Wandel für die Erhaltung von Wohlstand, Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und intakter ökologischer Grundlagen hervorgehoben wird. Der strategische und regulatorische klimapolitische Rahmen auf EU-Ebene wird als Rahmenbedingung für Veränderungen analysiert. In einem weiteren Abschnitt werden ausgewählte Indikatoren präsentiert, die für die Abbildung der ökologischen Transformation von Relevanz sind. Um die Breite der ökologischen Dimension zu erfassen, werden neben den Themenbereichen Klima und Treibhausgase sowie energierelevante Indikatoren die Bereiche Kreislaufwirtschaft und Materialverbrauch sowie Ökosysteme und Biodiversität adressiert. Indikatoren zu Umweltinnovationen und Umweltsteuern beschließen das Kapitel.
