Abstract

Zusammenfassung Auch wenn das Thema Fachkräfteengpässe im Wissenschaftssystem bisher wenig präsent ist, deuten erste Symptome auf eine Verschärfung hin. Um eine belastbare Datenbasis zu schaffen, werden die demografie- und fluktuationsbedingten Ersatzbedarfe sowie die durch politische Absichten zur Steigerung der Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung erzeugten wachstumsbedingten Bedarfe geklärt. Um diesen Bedarfen die in der Zukunft absehbaren Potenziale für eine Karriere im Wissenschaftsbereich gegenüberzustellen, erfolgt eine Vorausberechnung für die unterschiedlichen Qualifikationsstufen in unterschiedlichen Fächergruppen. Dieser Abgleich schafft Orientierung für in Zukunft ungedeckte Bedarfe und unterlegt die nachwuchsbedingten Herausforderungen, die Funktionalität dieses Teils des Innovationssystems in Deutschland zu sichern. Neben dieser quantitativen Abschätzung wird die Perspektive für morgen durch einen qualitativen Blick auf sich ändernde Kompetenzanforderungen abgerundet.
