Abstract

Zusammenfassung Um sich ein Bild darüber zu machen, was Leadership ausmacht und worauf es dabei ankommt, beleuchten wir zunächst einmal die in diesem Zusammenhang auftretenden unterschiedlichen Begriffe. Umgangssprachlich werden z. B. die Begriffe Leader bzw. Führungskraft und Manager häufig synonym verwendet, insbesondere im wirtschaftlichen Umfeld. Doch was unterscheidet den Manager vom Leader und welche Rolle spielen Hierarchien oder der Begriff der Macht in diesem Zusammenhang? Es wird verdeutlicht, warum es als Leader natürlich sehr wichtig ist, in einem entsprechenden Machtgefüge zu agieren. Wir zeigen aber auch, dass dies nicht das Entscheidende für gute Führung ist. Entscheidend sind vielmehr weiche Faktoren, die das Verhalten von Menschen viel stärker und nachhaltiger positiv beeinflussen können, als konkrete Maßnahmen auf Basis definierter Vorgehensweisen. Dieses Kapitel dient als Einführung, welche dann in den späteren Kapiteln vertieft wird.
