Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieser Abschnitt bietet eine fundierte Analyse der theoretischen Grundlagen und der historischen Entwicklung des Esports. Er beginnt mit der Definition und den verschiedenen Schreibweisen des Begriffs ‚Esports‘ und beleuchtet die Debatten um dessen Anerkennung als offizielle Sportart. Die Entwicklung des Esports wird durch die Darstellung zentraler Meilensteine nachgezeichnet, von den ersten Videospielen bis zur Etablierung als wettbewerbsorientierte Disziplin. Zudem wird das dynamische Wachstum des Esports-Marktes untersucht, einschließlich der wirtschaftlichen Bedeutung von Sponsoring, Medienrechten und der globalen Community. Abschließend wird der kulturelle Einfluss des Esports auf die Gesellschaft analysiert, wobei die zunehmende Diversität und Akzeptanz innerhalb verschiedener demografischer Gruppen hervorgehoben wird.
