Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zukünftige Entwicklungen lassen sich angesichts globaler Dynamik, Vernetzung und Komplexität nicht sicher prognostizieren. Strategisches Handeln erfordert dennoch, Trends vorauszudenken und sich an sie anzupassen. Hier setzen Zukunftsforschung und Strategic Foresight an: Beide untersuchen, welche Szenarien möglich, wahrscheinlich oder wünschenswert sind, und schaffen Entscheidungsgrundlagen, unterscheiden sich jedoch im jeweiligen Fokus. Organisationale Zukunftsfähigkeit gründet auf einem Dreischritt. Erstens Beobachtung: externe Veränderungen und interne Signale werden systematisch auf Brüche und Wendepunkte gescannt. Zweitens Interpretation: Die Befunde werden in gemeinsame Deutungsmuster übersetzt, um Chancen und Risiken verständlich zu machen. Drittens Handlung: Aus dem so gewonnenen Zukunftsbild werden Optionen bewertet, Entscheidungen getroffen und adaptive Maßnahmen eingeleitet. Dieser Zyklus ermöglicht es, Ziele auch unter unsicheren Bedingungen wirksam zu verfolgen.
