Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Artikel behandelt die verfassungsrechtlichen Grundlagen für eine nachhaltige Wirtschaftspolitik in Deutschland. Er stützt sich auf Entscheidungen des Bundesverfassungsgerichts (BVerfG) zu Klimaschutz und Schuldenbremse, die wichtige Rahmenbedingungen für die zukünftige ökonomische Ausrichtung unseres Wirtschaftssystems setzen. Der Beitrag betont die Notwendigkeit, Wirtschaftssysteme qualitativ und damit verfassungskonform zu gestalten, wobei er die Wichtigkeit von Umweltschutz, Generationengerechtigkeit und ökologischer und fiskalischer Nachhaltigkeit hervorhebt. Er diskutiert die Gestaltungsfreiheit und -verantwortung des Gesetzgebers und der Grundrechtsträger der Unternehmensfreiheit gleichermaßen sowie die Rolle evidenzbasierter, wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse. Der Artikel zielt darauf ab, durch ökonomische Interpretation der jüngsten Leitentscheidungen des BVerfG den wirtschaftspolitischen Diskurs über die Ausgestaltung einer zukunftsorientierten „Quality Economy“ zu fördern.
