Abstract

Zusammenfassung Nach der Veröffentlichung der Astronomia nova schrieb Kepler, nun in Linz tätig, eine kurze und leichter lesbare, Epitome genannte Zusammenfassung der Astronomia nova. Ihn beschäftigten aber noch die Gedanken an die Sphärenharmonie, die er in seinem nächsten Werk Harmonices mundi („Weltharmonie“) niederschrieb. Am Ende des Buchs, kurz vor dessen Veröffentlichung und wenige Tage vor dem Ausbruch des Dreißigjährigen Krieges fiel ihm auf, dass ein mathematischer Zusammenhang zwischen den Umlaufzeiten und den großen Halbmessern der Planeten besteht: Er entdeckte sein drittes Planetengesetz. Galilei formulierte sein Relativitätsprinzip und entdeckte die Unabhängigkeitsgesetze der Bewegung.
