Abstract

Zusammenfassung Seit rund 50 Jahren führt der New Yorker Künstler, Aktivist und Hochschuldozent die Medien mit seinen akribisch geplanten Media Pranks an der Nase herum. Er schafft es immer wieder, die Journalisten auszutricksen und ihnen vorzuführen, wie angreifbar sie für Falschinformationen sind. Nicht nur US-Medien fielen auf seine Geschichten rein, sondern Medien weltweit, darunter auch der Stern, der Spiegel und die Welt. Die Stories, die Joey Skaggs den Journalisten präsentiert, erscheinen so verheißungsvoll, dass diese oft ihre ganze Vorsicht fallen lassen und ihm so zum Opfer fallen.
