Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel stellt die vielfältigen Aspekte von Nachhaltigkeit in Supply Chains dar und zeigte die Wichtigkeit, aber auch gleichzeitig die Herausforderungen sowie den Umsetzungsaufwand. Dazu werden Begriffe erläutert, relevante Gesetzesinitiativen vorgestellt, der Prozess der Entwicklung einer Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie für Supply Chains beschrieben, das Instrument Ökobilanz erläutert, die Vorgehensweise zur Ermittlung und zum Management von Treibhausgasen erklärt sowie relevante Zertifizierungs- und Berichtsstandards dargestellt. Diese – sicherlich nicht vollständige – Übersicht zeigt, dass den letzten Jahren und Jahrzehnten viel getan wurde, die Entwicklung jedoch weiterhin dynamisch bleiben wird.
