Abstract

Zusammenfassung Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen betreiben Forschungsaktivitäten aus verschiedenen Gründen. Unternehmen schaffen damit die Grundlage für die Entwicklung von Produkten und Dienstleistungen, um dadurch Wettbewerbsvorteile zu erzielen. Forschungseinrichtungen tragen mit ihren Aktivitäten in der Grundlagenforschung, der angewandten Forschung oder auch durch experimentelle Entwicklungen zum allgemeinen Erkenntnisgewinn bei. Die Bedeutung kooperativer Forschung zwischen Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen wird zunehmend wichtiger. Neben diesen beiden Akteuren sind noch weitere Akteure in die Forschungslandschaft eingebunden. Eine wichtige Rolle nehmen Fördereinrichtungen ein, die mit einem breiten Spektrum an Förderinstrumenten die Durchführung von Forschungsaktivitäten unterstützen. Das Kapitel verschafft einen Überblick über die Akteure, die Zielsetzungen der Forschung, verschiedene Förderinstrumente und die Rolle der Forschungskoordination in diesem Kontext.
