Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Anzahl und das Tempo der neu auftauchenden Buzzwords, durch die sich die VR/AR/MR/XR/Metaverse-Branche seit 2016 definiert, sind im Vergleich zu anderen Trendbranchen wie KI, Cloud, Games oder Big Data verhältnismäßig hoch. Obwohl XR als Akronym für Cross oder Extended Reality noch Anfang 2021 in der Branche die beste Chance hatte, sich als Gattungsbegriff durchzusetzen, verkündete Mark Zuckerberg ab Mitte 2021, dass mit dem Metaverse ein neues Zeitalter für seine eigene Firma und die gesamte Welt anbrechen würde. Damit treiben wir die nächste Sau durchs Dorf und die medialen Gewerke generierten ad hoc Stories auf der Suche nach dem Metaverse.
