Abstract

Zusammenfassung Digitalisierung, digitale Plattformen und künstliche Intelligenz können erheblichen Nutzen stiften, sie tragen aber auch Gefahren in sich. Um sie adäquat gestalten zu können, gilt es verschiedene Anforderungen zu erfüllen. Neben den grundsätzlichen Anforderungen der Digitalisierung nach Agilität, Offenheit, Skalierbarkeit und Schnelligkeit bestehen im Kontext digitaler Plattformen und künstlicher Intelligenzen vor allem die Anforderungen, Mensch und Maschine zu vernetzen, Plattform-Akteure zu orchestrieren und eine geeignete Governance zu etablieren, sowie die generellen Anforderungen nach Sicherheit, Datenschutz und Souveränität, wobei zwischen den verschiedenen Anforderungen typischerweise Spannungsfelder und Zielkonflikte bestehen, die für zusätzliche Komplexität sorgen. Um diesen Anforderungen gerecht werden zu können, müssen geeignete Strukturen und Prozesse geschaffen und die erforderlichen Kompetenzen aufgebaut werden. Spätestens mit der Digitalisierung kommt der Informationstechnologie dabei eine besondere Rolle zu: Sie ist nicht mehr lediglich operatives Werkzeug, sondern sie bildet das strategische Fundament für die übergreifende Organisations-Architektur. Um dieser strategischen Rolle Rechnung zu tragen, wird die Informationstechnologie hinsichtlich ihrer Fähigkeit, Komplexität beherrschbar zu machen, zu gestalten sein, wobei sich Cloud-Architekturen als besonders geeignet erweisen, diese Fähigkeit während des kompletten Lebenszyklus zu gewährleisten.
