Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der zentrale Erfolgsfaktor eines Unternehmens ist der Markterfolg seiner Produkte und Dienstleistungen. Dabei müssen zwei Fragestellungen beantwortet werden: Welche Produkte werden aktuell und in Zukunft am Markt erfolgreich sein und wie lassen sie sich effizient herstellen? War die Beantwortung dieser Fragen bereits in der Vergangenheit nicht einfach, gesellen sich heutzutage weitere Herausforderungen hinzu. Immer kürzere Produktlebenszyklen, eine zwangsweise kurze Time to Market, steigende Komplexität, zunehmende Produkt-Individualisierung und die Digitalisierung machen eine erfolgreiche Produktentwicklung zur Mammutaufgabe. Wohl dem, der über ausreichend Personalressourcen und interdisziplinäre Entwicklungsteams verfügt. In der mittelständisch geprägten Wirtschaft Deutschlands ist dies seltenst der Fall. Es braucht also pragmatische Ansätze wie auch kleine Unternehmen diese Herausforderungen bewältigen können. Ein paar davon sollen im nachfolgenden Beitrag vorgestellt werden.
