Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Themengebiet der Produktentwicklung ist sehr umfangreich und komplex. In diesem Abschnitt wird eine kurze Einführung zu den relevanten Grundlagen gegeben, die für das bessere Verständnis der Erfolgsfaktoren der Produktentwicklung nötig ist. Dabei werden zunächst die relevanten Begriffe aus dem Bereich der Produktentwicklung definiert und nachfolgend die Produktkategorien, -klassen und -merkmale beschrieben. Die Produktentwicklung wird dann hinsichtlich ihrer Schnittstellen sowie der Erfolgsquote von Produkten und der Arten von Produktentwicklungsprojekten betrachtet. Der Zusammenhang zwischen Branchen- und Markt- sowie Produkt- und Technologielebenszyklen wird dargestellt und die Prozesse der Produktentstehung und -nutzung werden beschrieben.
