Abstract

Zusammenfassung Wahrer Frieden ist nur durch geistigen Frieden zu erreichen, glaubt Tenzin Gyatso, den Sie vermutlich eher unter seiner formellen Bezeichnung als Dalai Lama kennen, liebe Leserin und lieber Leser. Der Amtsträger des tibetischen Buddhismus wird sicher wieder häufiger zitiert, seit das nur rund 1.200 Kilometer von Berlin entfernte Kiew zur Hauptstadt eines Krieges in Europa geworden ist. Der Optimismus des Mönchs, dessen Bemühen um Verständigung im Jahr 1989 mit der Nobelpreis-Auszeichnung gewürdigt wurde, wirkt frappierend: „Am Ende werden Frieden, Vernunft und Freiheit die Oberhand gewinnen.“
