Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Unternehmensbewertung wurde in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts in der jungen Wissenschaft Betriebswirtschaftslehre noch keine eigenständige Bedeutung gegeben. Sie war für die meisten Forschenden ein Aspekt des externen Rechnungswesens, allerdings widmete Eugen Schmalenbach ihr schon Ende der 1920er-Jahre als Gegenstand der Finanzierung von Unternehmens- und Anteilskäufen großes Interesse. Mit der Machtübernahme der Nationalsozialisten verschob sich der Fokus von der praktisch-normativen zur ethisch-normativen Betriebswirtschaftslehre, die schon vorher insbesondere von Heinrich Nicklisch vertreten wurde. Ein besonderer Tiefpunkt mit zahlreichen Bewertungsanlässen stellte die sog. Arisierung der deutschen Wirtschaft dar, aus der sich auch für die heutige Wissenschaft und Praxis Lehren ziehen lassen: Vermeintlich technokratische Größen wie Gewinn, Vermögen oder Umsatz werden stets einer wie auch immer gearteten Ideologisierung zugänglich sein.
