Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Umgang mit größeren Menschengruppen gehört zu den Standardaufgaben der Polizei. Ausgerichtet an Wissensbeständen aktueller sozialpsychologischer (und soziologischer) Forschung argumentiert der Beitrag für einen evidenzbasierten und reflexiven Forschungszugang. Ausgehend von Konzepten zum Verhalten von Menschengruppen, die auf einer klassischen crowd psychology beruhen, stellen wir den Ansatz der sozialen Identitäten (ASI) vor. Aus dem ASI leiten wir konkrete Ansatzpunkte für wirkungsvolle Strategien und Taktiken zum Protest Policing ab und übertragen diese auf die verwandten Bereiche des Desaster Managements, des Umgangs mit Fußballspielen sowie des Pandemie Managements.
