Abstract

Zusammenfassung Sicherheit entsteht im Wettbewerb dadurch, dass für die Kunden mehr Auswahl herrscht. Wenn ein Anbieter ausfällt, kann man auf einen Konkurrenten zurückgreifen. Ohne Wettbewerb ist man auf den einen Anbieter, seine Preise und seine Qualität angewiesen. Die hohe Bedeutung Russlands in der Gasversorgung zeigt die Risiken, wenn der Wettbewerb fehlt. Je einfacher zwischen Alternativen gewechselt werden kann, desto sicherer sind die Kunden vor einseitigen Entscheidungen der Anbieter. Wer selbst keinen Wettbewerb spürt, fühlt sich zu sicher. Aber gerade diese Situationen können schnell gefährlich werden. Viele Unternehmen haben so lange gedacht, sie seien in Sicherheit, bis plötzlich neue Wettberber da waren, gegen die sie nicht mithalten konnten. Nur wer sich immer im Wettbewerb behaupten kann, kann auf neue Herausforderungen reagieren.
