Abstract

Zusammenfassung Diese Sondersteuer auf Ehelosigkeit wurde nach den Verlusten des 30jährigen Krieges als bevölkerungspolitische Maßnahme angewandt. In Thüringen wurden z.B. Junggesellen, sofern sie das fünfundzwanzigste Lebensjahr überschritten hatten, zur Hagestolzsteuer herangezogen. Einige Jahre steuerfrei waren diejenigen, die vor Erreichung des zwanzigsten Lebensjahres heirateten. Kinderreichen Familien wurden großzügige Prämien gewährt.
