Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Papstkirche hatte über Jahrhunderte ein vielgestaltiges Abgabensystem geschaffen, das in erster Linie dafür sorgte, dass ein Teil der finanziellen Erhebungen direkt der Kammer des Papstes zufiel. Der größte Teil der Abgaben und Steuern – wie Palliengelder, Salvitien, Annaten, Kommenden, Verkauf von Ablassbriefen etc. – diente dazu, auf die weltlichen Angelegenheiten, wenn nötig mit militärischen Mitteln, Einfluss zu nehmen.
