Abstract

Zusammenfassung Das Konzept des Smart Tourism hat in jüngster Vergangenheit vor allem in Städten zunehmend an Bedeutung gewonnen und das Verhalten sowie die Interaktionen der Akteure erheblich verändert. Der aktuelle Fokus des Smart Tourism auf Städte wird durch praktische Faktoren und die enge Verflechtung mit dem Konzept der Smart City begründet. Die Umsetzung des smarten Städtetourismus ist in der Praxis zwar durch eine Vielzahl an Fallstudien dokumentiert, diese Beschreibungen der smarten Aktivitäten sind jedoch sehr segregiert und idiografisch auf einzelne Städte ausgerichtet. Synoptische Studien fehlen bislang. Dieser Beitrag schließt diese Forschungslücke und vergleicht die Aktivitäten und Entwicklung im Smart Tourism in Städten weltweit.
