Abstract

Zusammenfassung Afrika ist ein wachsender Zukunftsmarkt, der deutschen Unternehmen viele Möglichkeiten bietet. Der ehemalige Staatssekretär des Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), Martin Jäger, zeigt der deutschen und europäischen Wirtschaft in diesem Kapitel das umfangreiche entwicklungspolitische Engagement der Bundesregierung und speziell des BMZ für Wachstum und Beschäftigung in Afrika auf. Die entwicklungspolitisch motivierte Zusammenarbeit des BMZ mit der Wirtschaft ist dabei komplementär zu der Außenwirtschaftsförderung des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi). Neben Kooperationsprojekten mit Unternehmen fördert das BMZ auch die Verbesserung der Rahmenbedingungen für Investitionen vor Ort. Die verschiedenen Ansätze eröffnen Chancen für Unternehmen und enthalten konkrete Kooperationsangebote für Public-Private Partnerships. Investitionen deutscher und europäischer Unternehmen in Afrika können auch für eine nachhaltige Erholung („Better and Green Recovery“) afrikanischer Volkswirtschaften aus der Corona-Krise einen bedeutenden Impuls geben.
