Abstract

Zusammenfassung Im Jahr 1994 formulierte JOHN HORTON CONWAY folgendes mathematische Problem(n): Proceed from the natural numbers to the non-negative rationals (or the strictly positive ones if you prefer), then construct the non-negative (or positive) reals from these, so having no sign-problem, and then construct signed reals from these in the way that we constructed the signed integers from the natural numbers. I think that this is in fact the simplest way to construct the real numbers along traditional lines.
