Abstract

Zusammenfassung In der Vergangenheit war die Ausbildung von journalistischem und PR-Nachwuchs von zwei Gegenpolen geprägt, die lange Zeit kein Interesse an einer Annäherung zeigten: die Ausbildung durch Praktika, Volontariate oder Trainee-Stellen auf der einen und die wissenschaftliche Ausbildung durch (vermehrt praxisorientierte) Studiengänge auf der anderen Seite (Meier und Schützeneder 2019, S. 199). Diese Gräben werden mit Blick auf das Spannungsfeld von Journalismus und strategischer Kommunikation insofern weiter vertieft, als anhand verschiedener Debatten sowohl Ausbildung (praktisch oder universitär) und auch Richtung (journalistisch oder strategische Kommunikation) regelmäßig als unlösbare Konfliktlinien betrachtet wurden. Der vorliegende Beitrag geht darauf ein und fragt, wie in diesem Spannungsfeld Lehre und Ausbildung künftig erfolgversprechend strukturiert und umgesetzt werden können.
