Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mit der Formulierung der Überschrift dieses Kapitels soll klar gemacht werden, dass es sich bei der Balanced Scorecard um ein Strategisches Managementsystem handelt. In der Literatur und auch in der Praxis ist die Balanced Scorecard in ein Kennzahlensystem uminterpretiert worden. Der Strategieplanungs- und Umsetzungsprozess zeigt in mehreren Phasen eine starke Orientierung an Intangible Assets auf: Es geht u. a. um die Stärkung und Weiterentwicklung von Erfolgspotenzialen, um den Aufbau von Kernprozessen, die Anpassung der Unternehmenskultur und die entscheidende Rolle von Lernprozessen. Die Balanced Scorecard gilt als das Performance Measurement-System schlecht hin. Performance Measurement umfasst den Einsatz von Messgrößen aus verschiedenen Dimensionen, dazu später mehr. Außerdem sollen mehr Kommunikationsprozesse und eine erhöhte Mitarbeitermotivation angeregt sowie Lerneffekte erzeugt werden.
